History of Mooney Aircraft

Some MOONEY Aircraft Flight Manuals PDF above the page.

In 2008, against the backdrop of a general decline in demand for private jets, the once thriving company, Mooney Aircraft, went down in history.

Over their 80-year history, it was they who managed to convert one of the most spectacular fighters of the WW2 - the P51 Mustang into a passenger M22 with amazing flight characteristics and it is they who still hold the world record for the speed of trans-continental flights on a piston aircraft.

2008 turned out to be tough on private jet manufacturers. Mooney Aircraft was one of those companies whose sales fell by more than a third and forced management to go into bankruptcy.

However, the aircraft manufacturer's plant in Kerrville, Texas was not abolished, and the work of employees was concentrated on servicing the impressive American fleet of Mooney single-engine aircraft.

Interestingly, all these five years, the management received orders for the production of new machines. For five years, enough of them have accumulated to resume production, and a new strategic partner of Mooney - Soaring America Corporation - decided to invest in a company that has not yet been forgotten.

The first vehicles from the revived company will be the Acclaim Type S and Ovation series. The Type S is recognized as one of the fastest single piston engine aircraft in the world.

The turbocharged model has set more than 130 speed records and has a cruising speed of 426 km / h (KTAS) and a service ceiling of 7.5 km, while the lightweight versions of the Ovation series aircraft have a cruise speed of up to 352 km / h (KTAS) and a service ceiling of up to 6 km.
