History of Colomban CriCri Aircraft

Some COLOMBAN CriCri Aircraft Flight Manuals PDF above the page.

The history of the smallest aircraft dates back to 1958, when the aircraft industry “in the backyard of the house” was gaining popularity.

French engineer Michel Colomban designed a device with two engines, with a total power of 20 hp.

Every year the model underwent changes and an almost modern version flew in 1973. The plane was named Cri-Cri - after the nickname of the daughter of the creators of Christina.

Over the years, the plane has managed to fly with piston engines and even with electric motors.

The super-small aircraft weighs only 78 kilograms, excluding the weight of the pilot and fuel.

The maximum flight speed is about 200 km / h.

The length of the apparatus is 3.9 meters, the wingspan is 4.9 meters.

The flight range is up to 460 kilometers.

Small size and ease of assembly made Cri-Cri popular in many countries. The aircraft has successfully taken part in many air exhibitions and demonstration performances.

It is precisely because of the simplicity of the design that it is not known exactly how many Cri-Cri planes fly around the world.

According to some reports, 100 copies of Colomban CriCri were purchased in Europe and America. And another 600 sets of drawings have been sold.

Calculations state that for the construction of one mini-plane by one person according to the drawings, with all materials and components available, it is necessary to spend only 1.5-2 thousand working hours, which is very little.
